Yes means Yes and No means No. But what about the space in between? How do we navigate the grey areas that exist beyond an enthusiastic Yes to a specific sex act for a specific duration of time? How do we explore relationships and activities that we haven’t formed an opinion on yet?
Consent is a deeper conversation than Yes or No. It informs the way we move in the world and make decision with all of the people we have relationships with. Specifically pertaining to sex, consent is necessary whether it be a casual hook up, friends with benefits, or a long-term partnership. We live complex lives and need to approach our relationships with ourselves and others with care and consideration.
This workshop will touch upon Best Practices for obtaining informed consent, tools for self exploration and empowerment, and talking about why it does us harm to try to simplify and bureaucratize consent. Bring a pen, paper & a friend.
